All I can tell you for sure is that axle is not a pre 48 ford auto axle. Can you give us the bolt pattern dimensions? Can you get us a pic of the spindles on that axle?

I wish i had access to the car. I was told that the other axle i got was from a chevy the wheels that were on it fit the axle i am in question about.

Now that other axle had long long leaf springs on it with helper springs on(additional leafs). Those leafs fit in the rear of the car.

I think before i buy theses new brakes i am going to have to pull the front axle off.

I need to ask: Why worry about a disc kit right now?

I'd be putting my efforts into the body overhaul first. If you put a lot of time & money into the chassis and then want to bail out of that car, you won't get it back with the body the way it is.

Another reason to avoid new chassis parts right now is that they may rust up, hoses get dried out, etc.

Also, did someone try chopping the front windshield at one time??

You make sense. But I know i am going to keep this one. I don't think anyone would interested in it in its current condition. Any ways i was thinking of just getting it runing a drive it around as a work in progress. it will be down in 3 summers

ya i think someone tried chopping the front windshield at one time or replaced the front apron.

Axle

If you can check the king pin size, you might be able to swap a '49 to '54 Chevy spindle, that would give you a5 lug bolt pattern and open doors to disc brake conversions.
