axle splines

My question is to do with the compatability of a posi unit for a 12 bolt Chevy and the fact that I want to put axles with more splines. Can I change the splines on the posi ? I will not upgrade the axles if I have to get a new posi.
thanx, C.Price

Your best bet would be changing the side (and/or spider) gears to match your axle splines - IF THEY ARE AVAILABLE. Be aware that this will require some minor disassembly of the POSI unit.

Beaware that going to more splines means a bigger axle and you should make sure the axle to still slide into the carrier.
