Post B&M Megashifter

Problem is when I want to ratchet shift it sticks in second after shifting from 1st and you have to manually pull up the lockout lever in order to shift it into drive or third. (350 tranny) I don't have a manual and B&M don't seem to have a website. Is it a lubrication problem or a adjustment? It worked great before, could it be a worn cable? Sorry for the long post, but I need help....the drags are on Aug.8th,thanks in advance.

Not positive, but I would check for binding, bad or lack of lube in the cable, loose linkage, bent linkage. also take the cover off the shifter and check the ratchet mechanism for burrs, dust, dirt, clean it up and lube it good. also check where the cable comes into the shifter through the trans tunnell for looseness. if all checks out okay, remove the cable from the trans and run the gear selector to 1st and go forward one at a time to check for binding. good luck.
