B&M Megashifter

Having trouble adjusting my Megashifter on GM 350. After adjusting, according to directions, when I go through the shift pattern back to Park and remove the swivel from the trans lever the trans lever moves forward about 1/8" to the Park detent. I've adjusted and readjusted the cable and swivel for 3 hours with no success. Any ideas? I don't think the cable is binding and the cable adjust nuts are tight.

One thing you might try is to move the cable slightly forward or slightly backward in the bracket where it mounts to the trans pan. This will give you a slightly different cable length position. I did this on my C6 when I installed a B&M and it got me into the correct indent position for all the gears. Can't guarantee this will solve you problem but it is easy enough to test out. Also, are you certain you are not over shooting your part position? These shifters are made for a "universal" application and I know some of them can travel one position beyond normal park postion (for the few cars that have a longer travel). I know it says in my manual to make sure on the C6 NOT to try to push the shifter past the park position.

I looked at the B&M website. They mentioned 2 Park positions for GM automatics due to the long throw required to get into Park. I have to look into that. The shifter needs to go a little further to get solidly into Park.

Hmmmm, maybe your trans is one that requires the extra distance...and it's not quite making it to the second (longer) position. I'd still try fiddling with the cable mount on the trans pan too.
