I have been on vacaion and offline for far too long. I am having forum withdrawals. Although I hardly ever posted, I did read this place like crazy every day. Great source of information and comraderie.

Thanks to ya'll who keep posting the useful info...I can't wait to catch up on it all...

Well ty ty ya'll. I was not away by choice, just had problems getting online for a bit. I believe the bugs are worked out now though.

I still have my Buick, but have had to move it around a bit to avoid city problems. Against my better judgment I am indeed going to have to sell it. Perhaps when it's feasible I will look for another (though it wouldn't be the same, the 54 Roadmaster just rocks in my book ;) ).

I am still working with the Olds as wll. Got the harmonic problem taken care of, but now there is a leak round the timing cover and the tranny cooling line connection. I have learned if it aint one thing with that car, it's another. This weekend I will be fabricating another peice for the tranny line. And if time allows tearing down the front end again to reseal the timing cover. *sigh* Wish me luck ;)

GG, if you reseal the timing cover I would suggest using a product made by permatex thats called "the right stuff". It comes in a can like cheese wiz. It works really well. I use it on my valve covers and I don't even use a gasket. It is more expensive that regular silicone, but it works really well. Good Luck

I've heard of this stuff (I think it's the stuff I was told about anyway). Where do you get it from?

You can get it at Napa or CarQuest or any of those places. You get a can for about 12 bucks and it will do a 10-12 4cyl valve covers. I have used it the last 4 times I've adjusted the valves (I have to do that often due to my heavy foot)and I love the stuff.
