Back to square one

I spent several months looking for a 12 bolt rear end for my chevelle and finally found one, was going to pick it up tomorrow, but the guy that was selling it called me today and said it was stolen from the back of his truck last night…….back to square one.

I’m out a 12 bolt rear end, a hard working nice guy is out the $500 I was going to give him for it, and some lame ***** punk to lazy to earn what he gets has a free 12 bolt rear end, it sure is nice to know that life is good for some people.

I don’t even want to think that the guy got a better offer for it, so he lied about it, either way this is BULL!

Sorry for the rant.

I bought an 8.5" 10 Bolt posi from a friend of mine for $50 and told him I'd pick it up in a few weeks. He said he'd put it out on the carport in case he wasn't around when I came to get it. He lives out in the boonies so no problem. He stops by about 3 weeks later and asks me when I picked up the rear end..... I tell him I didn't. He says that's what he was afraid of. His brother and some of the guys he works with were out picking up some of his brothers parts for their stock car and he realized a few days later the rear end was gone. Of course being the nice guy he is since I didn't come pick the rear end up right away he doesn't see any reason to refund my money.......... Chalk one up to experience.

Now, fast forward about a year and a half, a guy I work with asks me if I want a Chevy 10 bolt posi.....FREE. He doesn't know what version or anything but one of his son's stock racer friends had put this rear end in his garage about a year and a half before and never came back. He's wanting to clean out his garage so he tells me I can have it if I come by Friday. I hustle right over the next day. He rolls the door up and there in front of me guess what I see ? Yes, MY 8.5" 10 Bolt posi!!! I knew it was mine because of the way it was painted. What are the odds of that happening ? It worked out in the end for me at least.
