backfiring carb

I have a 355 sbc i got a holley 750 carb,I changed the accelerator pump gasket on now it backfiring like crazy until i can get the rpms up, It has 882 heads, crane 292 501/501 cam , weiland high rise intake i need help it's holding up my build progess

I would look to make sure you didnt tear the new pump. Backfiring through the carb is usually a lean condition. Also make sure the pump arm is in contact with the actuator.
First rule of troubleshooting is go back an look at what you last did. Maybe you installed it wrong.
