Backfiring truck

My pickup has been backfiring bad when i take off and it tries to die or does die, it also does it when im goin down the road and romp down on it, ive replaced the plugs and wires and it didnt help, it has the 350 small block, any help is greatly appreciated

backfire when i tromp

With the little info you have provided, and that just starts happening out of the blue, Im gona said you have a lobe going flat on the cam.

Have you run the motor hard lately? gonzo run? monster burn out? no zinc in the oil, time for a lobe to die!

Check your timing first. Sounds like it's retarded. Try for 12* btdc.

If backfiring occurs only on deceleration/letting off the gas, what would this indicate?
