bad distributer bearings?
I posted something awhile back about a whistling noise coming from what seemed to be the distributer. I replaced it w/ a used stock HEI I had lying around. It was fine for about a week. Once i drove it hard for about a day this distributer started making the same noise. Anyone know what the deal is? Should I jsut put a brand new distributer in it. What's the best in cap coil hei I can get for under 200 bucks. I was thinking the billet Mallory. Any suggestions.
By the way the motor is a .040 over 350 w/ approx 400hp. The ignition setup now is stock except a accel 45,000 volt coil. The motor jsut seems to be making the bearings go bad.

No bearings in it... It has bushings and yes they do go bad... I have had good luck with the Proform that I use... I replaced the coil & module with some MSD items I had...
You might want to removed the dist gear and removed the shaft and look for signs of being scored or excessive wear...?
