May I through in 2 or 3 cents worth here? If it was me and you couldn't easily obtain another block, I'd get a set of cheap Zero gap rings for your re-honed block. I have a 400 small block that I ran in my Camaro for years and years. It has a nice set of 30 over forged pistons that I bought for it way back when. I took the block and pistons to the machinest to see if they could be salvaged and he said that the cylinders have got some taper but I should be able to get away with reusing the pistons after a light hone. He then suggested zero gap rings. Yes sir re, they make up for some sins! Just call Total Seal, like I did and tell them about your situation. You just might like what you hear! Good luck
