I use a spray bottle with water. If your engine has headers, start it up and let it run for a few minutes, 5-10 minutes should do it. Spray water on each header tube near the flange. If the water "boils" off, that cylinder is firing. If the water just runs down the tube or does not boil, that cylinder is either not firing or is firing very weak and need further attention. Do all 8 tubes and keep track of which ones are good and not so good. Post results when you know.
