Has anyone bagged a 63 Impala?

I'am looking at airride system but would like to know if their is a cheaper system out their?

I'm doing a '39 chevy. I have pieced my parts together and it was cheaper for me to do this than buy from airride. Try www.truckin-store.com goto Air bag parts.
I bought contitech bags 1/2" ports (single) for $69 each. you can also piece together a compressor,tank and solenoids. my total system was under $700.
However, I made my brackets. I am not sure what you need there, but fulltiltstreetrods.com has pieces to help fab up a bracket. Air ride told me they wouldn't sell me the brackets for a Mustang II front end.

your 63 looks nice, i think it's a good idea to be thinking about bags, it'll look killer. I have bags from air ride tech in my 64 fairlane, their kits are high quality, but slow (unless you get their really expensive big red system) and you could piece one together for cheaper that's much faster. If i were you i'd check out www.layitlow.com, there's tons and tons of bagged and juiced impalas on there, ask them and i'm sure they could tell you every trick and detail in installing a system on your car. My 63 Bel Air was the first car that I ever bagged. If you are planning on trying to piece the stuff together I can give you a little advice on things to look out for because these cars can be tough to do,especially if you are a novice at air. All of the 58-64 cars have a funky upper coil spring pocket which is at a goofy angle. It is not like dealing with a flat hatted MII... Getting your angle, and the offset of the upper brackets is crucial. If you dont get it right you are going to have to cut the daylights out of the spring pocket and you are going to have some heavy modifications in the front. The second thing is you are going to have to find the right airspring for that cars weight and motion ratio of the suspension. Do not look at the generic "2500 / 2600 lb bag rating. You are going to want to know spring rate curves and you will need to match it to the car. If you dont get that one right the car will not handle or drive good. When you find the correct airspring, you have to make sure that your bracketry is designed to use that specific airspring. That way, you will get the car up to the aesthetic ride height that you want at the same time that the airspring is at its designed ride height. One huge factor on the 58-64 cars is that you need to run a 4 wheel independent control system. The factory frame design leaves a lot to be desired and is very efficient at transferring weight from corner to corner and you will need a four way control to keep it under control.
