Found this brand oil filter recently in a parts store here in AUS
Made in USA Broke in a flat tappet cam using it and now have to swap it out.
Are these good filters? Should I get another one. It came from a reputable store and don't think it was cheap from memory, just never heard of them before.
Anyone got an opinion...thanks.
I used Baldwin's 40 years ago. Steve's Auto Parts in Broadview, IL had them and they were reasonable and known to be a good filter. I have seen them but not often. I don't think they have the distribution other big name filters have. They have a nice web site. Many applications, cars, big rigs, industrial, etc. At one time was preferred by Ferrari, Luigi Chinetti. If you like them, use them.
When I was involved in heavy truck parts sales they were not well thought of in my part of the country. I have no idea if their bad reputation was deserved or not though.
Baldwin Filters are big in the Log trucking industry out here in the Pacific Northwest. I use them on my Truck.
