Ball Joints 64' Pontiac Bonneville

Hi guys!

The upper and lower ball joints of my 64´ Bonneville are getting a little loose now. New ones are impossible to find, at least here in Europe. And the parts available on ebay are pretty expensive and of unknown quality.

Does anybody know if ball joints can be repaired? Is it possible, to drill the spot welds open and replace the teflon grommets inside, to get them back to propper condition?

Or maybe somebody knows if there are ball joints from other models that are suitable for adaption?

Markus

old fix

There used to be a kit to pump in liquid plastic thru the grease zerk as a fix. It's been a lon time since I have seen the fix. The problem with the fix is it would only quiet them if minimal wear. if they had a lot of wear the ball joint could still come apart. mabe why I haven't seem the kits recently

The ball joints are not rebuildable, and you can't find the injectable plastic because that's a really bad idea. Get the complete front end kit from Kanter:

kantor parts

Kantor carries a lot of parts, and has always had good delivery, The prices are higher than a few other supliers. But kantor usually has everything in stock.
