banjo rearend

I'm trying to build a classic rat. How much will the banjo rearend handle??? I want to keep the old spring over rear end for a classic appearance but I've got a 460 to put in it and I don't know what the old banjo will handle

banjo rearend

You might be able to use it if you use an auto trans and be the last to leave the stoplight. I had a friend who used to regularly take out the rear end in his 46 coupe with a mild 283. Go for a Ford 9 inch. You'll be much happier.
