Bare Fiberglass...
I just purchased a 1969 Corvette convertible that needs some work for a good price. The previous owner had stripped the paint off down to the bare fiberglass, and let it sit 'nekkid' for a few years in the SoCal sun. You can feel quite a few fiberglass 'hairs' sticking up when you touch the surface.
I have seen that Ecklers sells a spray-on gelcoat, but I was wondering if I could use some other product in its place? I have heard that Ecklers stuff was tough to apply and sand smooth. There must be a better, more modern product out there by now? I will follow the plan from Roger1 after getting the fiberglass back in good condition. Thanks for the help guys! |
