Base Coat Question

I'm doing an engine compartment BC/CC. I have about 3 coats of base down and have sleight ,or a little more than sleight, orange peel. Will the clear hide this? It doesnt have to be perfectly smooth and deep since I'm trying to do an original type resto but I dont want it to be any worse or have the clear make th orange peel stick out like a sore thumb.
PPG DBC and 2021 clear. I think my problem was air cranked up too high, I had it set at about 55 psi and gun says 43 but the pattern looked a lot better with more air when I did a test panel. doing clear in the morning. Thanks
Bert

it's hard to say without seeing it , but the clear should bury some of it . after the clear dries , you can just knock it down to get your desired orange peel , then buff to get your shine.

If you were after perfection the paint would need to be sanded smooth and another coat of base applied, but since this is a restoration it should be fine with a little texture in it. Looks like a Mustang? Bob
