Base coat from SPI

Barry K, My Brother & I have been changing over to your paint, After using PPG for 40 yrs. We have had good results, untill I bought a gallon of your white base coat.

I opened it up this weekend, Stirred it & decided not to use it. It had the viscousity of urthane thinner. It had less viscousity than PPG's DBC has when the DBC is reduced.

Everything I've read about your paint on this web site & on the one I am a moderator has been good. At this point I am guessing I just got a bad batch.

Please advise.......Don

Well by your description there is no doubt something is wrong.

Don't use it and call baker for credit.

Did not have a bad batch but that does not mean one or two cans can't be off ratio especially if it was the first can filled of the batch made and solvents were not dried out of the pumping hose. Thats what it sounds like.
Those hoses are 10' and 2" dia like what you see on a gas truck and if someone skips a step that hose can hide a gallon of solvents pretty easily.

We are out of both the 40 and 50 whites right now so cannot replace.
May have both made by next week as waiting on one additive for that and the intercoat before can make.

Sorry for the aggravation but let me assure you someone else will be more sorry tomorrow.

Thanks Barry, I kind of thought you would take care of the problem from the excellent service I have heard you give.
