Base coat wait

I just sprayed my truck with Nason base coat. Nason says wait at least 30 minutes before you clear coat. I have SPI universal clear they say in their catalog to wait until the next day. It has been about an hour now and I want to spray now. Has anyone sprayed SPI clear without waiting until the next day? What would be the minumun wait time? Thanks Ron Hope some one answers quick it is getting hot in the shop today and I can't wait to see that SPI clear done by this amature. I called SPI and got a recording.

Any time after about a hour you should be fine I've went anywhere from 45 mins to 2 days . Your shop and air temp is the big thing If your 65-70 anything over a hour will work. Dont rush your clear coats I give it ahour or so between coats.

I went back and read the PSI booklet, and it said for a shop job, not a show car, you can spray again after 3 min. up to 20 min. It had been about 12 min. so I started spraying and it came out great for a beginner. And the book said all I needed was 2 wet coats I'm glad because I only had a tea cup left over. I only had 3 runs, an easy fix, I hope. I will get some pictures on here after I finish the bed and bolt it on. Thanks Guys.

You never want to go with the lowest time on anyones sheet. That's if every thing is perfect and We all know how often that happens. Glad it worked out for you. Give it a little more time next time. This is one case where more is better.
