Dupont Chromapremier basecoat takes a hardener.Dupont rep told me you can add it to regular chromabase. I did it for a while but didn't really see an advantage.Just another product to buy.Now if the basecoat calls for it i would say use it. I use U-tech polybase from time to time(awesome product BTW) and you have to activate it or it takes a year and a day to dry. If its optional i don't do it.Only time i use it is if its not getting cleared,like underhood colors(collision repairs) . Activated basecoats are a pain to sand if needed.They tend to gum up the paper.
