Yes, but not too rough, 400-600 paper wet will do.

Perfectly acceptable, but do not use a too agressive sand paper. One very important tip I can give you is this. After you sand the clear set the car in the sun for an entire day before you re-coat. This allows any trapped solvents in the clear to gass off. Skipping this step runs the risk of solvent pop.

Or worse!! wrinkling the clear. If the clear is not fully cured you can use a non-penetrating basemaker, or a very fast drying one. I use Dupont 7155 on repaints, and don't lay it on too thick. Dan

You can also use Scotchbrite pads to scuff up the paint. I have a DA with scotchbrite on it for just this purpose. After Scuffing, let sit in the sun for the afternoon.

Next day, wash the car with Dawn and water, blow dry, and wipe with car with rubbing alcohol and soft cotton cloth. This will remove any oily hand and or finger prints. Tack and shoot.
