Advantages for activator in base:
*Makes the color fasting a lot better long term,
*Helps stabilize metallics.
*Increases durability of base form 50-300% (depending on base and activator used)
*Helps prevents lifting or swelling of base if you need to repair a fresh spot.
*The increase protection against stone chips increased by a wide margin.
*Adhesion of clear is increased by a big margin.
*Better wet sanding of base if needed.
*Black being the slowest drying color (carbon conduces electricity)
activator will help to kick out the solvent, as with certain reds and yellows.
Disadvantages:
Cannot put activated base back in can or mixed should be used inside of 6-8 hours. The activator will not dry the base at the 10% NOC'S, rate the bases are set up with, like it will clear BUT Iso's suck water and if used a few days later you could get pinholes of base or what looks like dirt in paint job.
Do check with your company on usable pot-life and clear maximum re-coating time as sometimes the activator can shorten or lengthen that time.
