Meh...Lacquer is too brittle and years of vibration will take its toll on it.

As for enams/polys and orange peel....get the gun a little closer to the body.

Also, if you like the feel of wet paint, as well as that "wet" look, then enamel should be your choice. Who knows, if one paints now, it my be dry by Thanksgiving.
