Craig's briefing on the basics of engine theory has been revered forever. The Pontiac is a bit of an anomoly compared to others, but the engineering points are still the same. One important thing to remember when researching and making decisions, is some of this information is ancient and NEVER changes. Other changes on a weekly or monthly basis. The fundementals are still the fundementals. Necessities have made our approach a little different than in "olden times". Craig didn't anticipate ZERO 100 octane leaded gas at most stations. When he wrote that book (early '70s, with Kern Osterstock), there were still those stations on every corner.

And Wallace Racing has been kind enough to put that and a HUGE database of Pontiac information available to all. If you ever need to identify a Pontiac block, head or other "general" compnents of engines, that's the best site I know of.
