Basic stuff, but HELPPPP!!! (Engine startup)

Ok, I'm more of a chassis and electrical guy than an engine guy. so here's my problem...... I did some upgrades on my streetrod over the winter. New intake, new Edelbrock carb, change from points to HEI and other good stuff. Could not get the new distributor in at the same spot, so re-found TDC on #1 and ran all the new wires.(double checked the wire positions) The engine won't fire. Got battery, got fuel. All new parts. Just cranks, won't even cough. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Do you have spark? Do you have power at the coil?

Is the HEI module hooked up to the coil properly?

Sound like a dumb question but!! Did you install the distributor rotor? I have over looked this once.

Thanks for the replies. Rotor's on, 12 volts across the coil. No fire at the plugs. Bad module?? It's a new distributor built by Dave's smallbody HEIs. I don't know how to test for that so I'm inclined to pull it and stuff the points distributor back in. One more week to make the Nats East.

Most modules can be tested at Autozone. Make sure that is working, and that the wiring coming off the module is going to its proper location.
