I was doing some research on the replica of the Alexander Brother's "The 69'er" that was at SEMA. I didn't know much about it other than it looked a lot like the car from the cover of Little Deuce Coupe and had an Oldsmobile v8 (what more do you need? ) Anywho, from what I understand, The 69er's fraternal twin "Silver Sapphire" (the car on the cover of little deuce coupe) had the same treatment you're describing applied to it. Barris slapped his logos on their work for the album cover photo and his name was associated with a car that he didn't do a thing to.
