Yeah you can get a spray for your terminals. I have lil can somewhere I bought at the auto parts place. I cant recall the name but I applied it years ago and it has lasted and lasted.

They used to say, if you put a penny on it, the corrosion wouldn't happen....................

Clean it and put some grease on it.

Doc here,

Check the battery POST..where it enters the battery..

I'll bet you'll find a small crack right at the base of the terminal..

If that IS the case, Clean it, use a little baking soda, and patch it with Hydroseal..That should stop the corrosion.

Make a thin paste with 1/4 baking soda and a bit of water and let it sit for about 10 minutes, and wipe away those nasty buildups.

This can also be a sign of a battery that is starting to fail. If it needs to be charged a lot from teh alternator then it tends to emit more gas from the acid and corrodes the terminals. if it is more than 3 years old I would just change it.

try vasoline

I was always told you should put a liberal coating of Vasoline on battery terminals and connector, on new battery's as well as old, to stop corrosion and insure a good connection. Seem to wook for me.
