battery cables hanger
I'm ready to route my battery cables to the trunk using a Ford solenoid back by the battery. Is there any danger in hanging both battery cables, negative & positive in the same hanger? I have some insulated hangers that will hold both of them and probably also will hold the smaller wires that need to go back there also. Thanks in advance, Rod

If you want some extra separation and insulation, and it will fit in the clamp, slit a small section of rubber fuse hose and slip it over the positive cable before you put it in the clamp. If you have multiple small wires its also a good idea to buy some of the flexible plastic wiring conduit and use it to protect the wires and keep them together. Using the conduit to contain small wires also makes the job look neater and more professional.

Using a ford solenoid is only rated for intermittent duty.
There is however a ford looking style solenoid, but with a metal jaket or housing, that signifies that it is for continuous duty. If you are using it to control all the power for your ride, or to run a circuit full time, get the continuous duty style, they are a few bucks more, but they are built for the specific duty of being left turned on .

Thanks LATECH
Hey LATECH, Thanks for the info. Never heard of a continous duty solenoid. I'll check that out tomorrow. I'll bet my local parts store has one. Thanks again, Rod

Here's a link to one on Amazon. You can price compare at least.
