battery doesnt hold charge

Ok my battery wont hold a charge, i charge it and i try to start the car but it wont even turn over once and all i hear is a loud click....no sparks no nothing....just click........what can be to blame for my battery dying.......can the voltage regulator be doing it??.....i have replaced everything elctrical execpt the regulator......so i dont know what to do now.....any suggestions?

You didn't state what kind of engine, but, turn the headlights on while cranking, if the lights go completely out,1 click, bad connection, if they dim considerably, battery, if no change, solenoid or starter, yours sounds like solenoid or starter! HTH

How old is the battery and have you had it checked out. It could be the plates are shorted out.
