Battery for MGA

anybody here know what size battery I should use for this car? I cannot find any that will fit the battery boxes.

There's an article on converting to a single 12V battery here that includes references to the original 6V battery sizes and part numbers:

Moss sells original-style 6V batteries:

But at $109 US each that's an expensive solution, so unless authenticity is absolutely vital to you, I'd suggest you go for the single 12V solution. You can always switch back later.

I have OPTIMA RED top in my MGB it is small in physical size but high amperage and CCA ,if your car sits extended periods between driving go with the yellow top ,

some drivers are running two 2 motorcycle optima red they are 700 amps each very compact in size ,I think that is more than you need ,1 works fine in mine.

I have no idea what your battery looks like...... but the Mazda Miata battery is a small compact high amp battery that [I] have used on some applications.

I run 2 odyssey AGM motorcycle batteries in one battery box in my MGB.
