Can someone set me straight if there is a difference between 396, 402, 427 Chevrolet head gaskets and the 454 head gasket. Or is it a different gasket due to year of production? Im trying to figure out which have some type of additional larger cooling holes on the bottom water flow openings? Will 454 gaskets work on a 396, 402 , 427 with no problems? Thanks in advance for any information!

I am not a big block guru. I belive the 396, 454, and 427 are all interchangeable. I have never seen a 402. I would take my cylinder head and a rubing of the deck to the parts store and compare them to the gaskets that they have. Without knowing for sure it is the best way.
