Bbc 496 or sbc 406

My question of the day is concerning a bbc496 and sbc 406 I have them both the 406 is complete with iron darts 230 runner trw 13.1 compression stock 400 rods eagle crank hurricane single plan intake solid roller cam forgot the specs lift around 660 with 106 lsa or should I keep my bbc 496 not complete yet has forged probe pistons 10.5.1 procomp crank h beam 6.385 rods 049 heads dart single plan intake solid roller lifters no cam yet looking for the right and best decision before I do a crazy trade both motors are fresh

You asking which is the better to go with? The Big Block! you can`t beat cubic inches. The 400 combo looks nasty, however there is one problem with it. You`ve built a 400 that will be making it`s power in the upper RPM band and that`s where the problem lies. The stock 5.565 rods are the last rods I would have used. I hope you don`t mean stock as in stock rod bolts. These rods don`t like to rev over 5500. And due to them being so short they kill upper RPM power since they have a lousy rod to stroke ratio, what happens at upper rpm is the piston out runs the flame front.

ill 2nd that the big block combo seems more stable to me as far a drag racing is concerned
