BBC Best cam???

Building a basically stock 454 at the moment while I acquire more parts for my 496 BBC alcohol injected motor.

What's going to be the best bang for my bucks for a cam. Looking at a Magnum 292. Will that work well with flat tops and 781 heads?

Thanks

More information, like what intake, trans, gear ratio, how much power are you looking for and at what rpm?

Torker 2 intake, Turbo 400.

As for gear ratio, it's going in a monster truck so I dont have the ratio at the moment without tearing into the transfer case, diffs, and planetaries. This is to play around with while I build my race motor. Easly able to change the ratio though via the transfer case.

Looking to just get 400-500 max HP, and probably wont see over 5500 rpm.

A 454 with a 292H magnum cam +flat tops and 781 heads + Torker II intake will be about the biggest mut/slug possible.

The compression ratio will be very low, less than 8:1.
Get a grip. The only way to get a heavy truck to go with a low cr motor is to supercharge it.

Monster truck: Big tires needs big gears. Or it won;t be able to get out of its own way.

It has big gears. That's the reason for the planetaries. Some guys are running SBC's in theirs.

Any advice on intake and cam, F Bird? I'm just looking for something to have in it to putt around with until I get the blower motor finished.

Thanks
