1080 hp 505s dont cost 10k
being realistic
build the rear end and suspension first, thats about 2k if you start with nothing
transmission,t400 with converter at least 1k
will cost 5k to rebuild a premium stock bb,extra for heads, oval port is good unless you race a lot.If you are planning all at once then gears/tires/transmission to match application
11 second car needs to be able to go 120 MPH
what does this vehicle weigh?
will it be driven any long distances?
start with the basics and build all parts to match
combination combunation,,right tech?

if it was u guys then what would you do i have a built rearend with 373 and its rated to 750hp. so i need to figure out what im doing for the motor i wanna set it up for bottle but i will be rarely used. but i would like to push at least mid 12s on motor. it will mainly be use for street racing 1/4 every like once a month and weekend driver. and i have a tall deck 454 with a th400, so i need to figure out what im gunna do with the motor, tranny, and suspension, and later on ill figure out what im gonna do for weight reduction, tire sizes, ect. so if it was you guys what would you do and ill just say a 5000 budget for motor any and all advice will be much appreciated

what i had planned was to do this build with scat forged crank, je h rods and je high compression pistons most likely 10.5:1 and a solid roller set up with a nitro cam. btw the pistons would be setup for nitro to. like i said it will be rarely used but i want it to be able to be used without tearing a bunch of stuff up when it was. what do you guys think about that and heres the link to the build. Figure out your formulas for 3.73 rear, tire diameter, and torque needed to launch the car and the engine rpm required to match your set up in order to run 12s and about 120 in the 1/4!

An example, of my actual 1/4 mile time stock with street tires in a 3500 lb. 71 Vette around 1978, a stock 454ci rated at 425hp, 4spd, 3.73 gears 1/4 mile 13s about 103 mph went to a 4.10 gear and slicks and jumped into the 12s around 118mph. Not real fast and not consistent with the 4 speed but fun.
