FWIW, Comp offers an optional cam treatment that should make wiping a lobe a thing of the past. Cost is over $100 IIRC, though.

The simple lever valve spring compressor tool for BBC's and SBC's that uses the rocker stud and nut and
air pressure in the cylinder is like $15. It is all I have ever used.
Its just a bent hunk of steel with a hole and a slot in it. If its not long enough for you clamp a big old vise grip on the end for more leverage.

Here's a post on such a spring compressor, it can be easily modified to use a torque wrench for measuring/comparing spring pressure. Some of them are too flimsy for strong springs.

I will be removing inner spring. So me and F-Bird can sleep easy
I have a moroso compressor on way. The Snap-On one have have doesnt like these springs. Has worked great man times on some basic motors and the harleys but doesnt seem to like these springs at all.

The 1.5s Would have been borrowed. Even if I did have to buy, no sweat as I am sure they would come in handy again.

About all the roller cam nonsense, sure I would run one if I was going over 280*. I am not. My cam selection choice was made with my components I am using and usage of vehicle/motor and guidance from one of my many books from Mr. Vizard. If you disagree, great, take it up with him.

(Im a little put out by your low hp attitude, but good luck anyways. With fbird helping at least he knows how to make decent budget choices)

Ill go slow so you can keep up..
The "nonsense" comment was referring to the bickering on a thread that has nothing to do with roller cams. Roller cams are great.

The comment about 280* duration is referring to the only thing this thread, the big block chevy. which is what the thread is/was about. Why do you constantly compare apples to bananas? I get it, you have a raging hard on for LS motors. I used to have a vehicle with one, they are great, but seriously let it go.

I really do hope that the pinnacle of chevrolets sports car development does do that. I would need 1000 horsepower to beat a corvette.

You must be absolutely insufferable to converse with day to day.

But do not be "put out", Ill be sure to make the next project a pro street racing car with a beautiful LS with a roller cam, and furthermore I will not sleep or rest till I contact every type of racing league / class / manufacturer / aftermarket / development or whatever it is they do and inform them they are enormous morons for not harnessing the power of the only engine that matters, the LS with a roller

I just realized how much this place misses the doc

Modern roller valve trains have as much to do w/the fedgov/EPA as performance.
