I have a 81 chev short box bbc well done , I was out last night crusing around and I stoped and hit it , 3500,4000,4500,5000,5250 tic tic tic so i let off , I was sure it was a bad roller rocker that came outa adjustment so I turn and head home and off the gas/idle/part throttle nothing but under load or above 3000 it rattles and the more gas the louder it rattles , come home pull both valve covers hot and start shaking rockers , every one seems tight so i fire it up covers off and hear nothing , rev it up and knock knock knoc aorund 2500 rpm . my guess is a rod bearing so i dont want to run it much more but i took a video.

my engine is

block 14015445
heads 336781 with scorpion 1.7 roller rockers and arp bolts
intake edelbrock air gap
carb demon 825
Ignition msd digital 6 /pro billet dizzy/blaster ss coil
ceramic coated hooker headers long tube 3 inch mandrel exhaust

If i rebuild I would want to build for the nos and use a roller cam and all existing parts but of course im on a budget , please help
