BBC motor mounts

I'm in the process of swapping a Chevy 454 into a 1979 Malibu. The header manufacturer requires (for proper clearence) the use of "big block mounts", specifically the "engine frame stands". Since the factory didn't offer a big block in this car I'm lost as where to start. Will the earlier A-Body big block mounts fit? (Yes, technically the 78-81 Malibu is an A-Body, but generally refered to a G-Body) I know the SBC mounts will work but they will cause clearance problems with the headers. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!

I've talked to Phillip at Maliburacing, he used the small block motor mounts with Hooker headers. I'm going to use Patroit Clippsters (3/4 length) headers, and they specify the big block motor mounts. From what I've been able to find out is the BBC mounts allow the engine to sit lower in the cradle allowing for better clearance to the steering column. I can find BB mounts, but they are for early 70's Chevelles. Just wonder if they'd fit the 79.

The mounts you want would be speced for 1st. gen. Monte's w/the big block. Likely the Chevelle mounts you refer to are the same.
