BBC Piston I. D.
I'm changing out an older Herbert F/T for a retro roller cam in my T-Bucket, with no information on an earlier rebuild. Other than pulling the motor and dropping the pan to I.D. the pistons, I have no way of calculating my static c.r., if I can avoid pulling it, that would be nice.
It's a '67 396 passenger block, 3902406, stock bore and I was told stock pistons for that motor. The numbers have been milled off the front pad. The heads aren't anything to get excited about, 3904390's, I believe oval port 98cc, but I can measure them to verify that. Crazy as it sounds, can anyone I.D. these pistons, and the volume, assuming they are stock '67's? Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply Bob.
Bowtie, the dome is about .188, which is probably .21cc, the piston has one valve relief, so I think Bob is right on at -17. Great help, thanks again.
