BBF connecting rods

I'd like to hear from anyone who has a 429 BBF who is using Chevy or Mopar aluminum rods. The tall deck BBC (10.2) long rods quit at about 6.7" long, but the Hemi rods go 6.85" or so. Is the thickness of a Hemi rod the same as the BBC or BBF? In other words, are the crankpin bearings about the same width? I have to keep my stock 429 3.59 " stroke, but I'm looking to use some standard aluminum rods with custom pistons, turning the BBF crank journals down to BBC or Hemi diameter. Has anyone out there done this? Thanks, Stan
