bear jaw latches in 55 f100

Morning guys :
I want to replace the unsafe stock ford latches in my 55 f100. My issue is whether to use Speedway Motors slim line bear jaws or Altman bear jaw kit.
The Altman kit is costly compared to Speedy Bill's prices.
I have heard of clearance problem near the window channel on these f100s after installing bear jaw type latches.
My plan is to use the stock inside and outside handles but without using elec. sol. I will have no way to lock the doors. Any opinions or help on this ?

spend the money now and you will happy. I am on my second set of the cheap bear claw latches and the car is still being built. They don't hold up at all.

I'm using the Altmans on my 55 chevy PU and even though expensive, they fit. Probably saves lots of fabrication time. I have a(my) fix for the locks using electronic door locks and I'm taking pictures of what I did and will post my idea if anyone wants. Should finish the drivers door today or tomorrow and then test to make sure it all works as advertised.....then post. I have 5 or 6 days of fab-change, fab-change before I found something that is moderately simple and works. Maybe someone can improve on my idea and make it even better.
