Hi all, forum newbie here...looks like a cool place to hang out!
I thought it would be cool to do a couple "VIRTUAL KUSTOMZ", here are some before and after shots....(Photoshop rules!)
51 Merc Before...
VERY SAD!
51 Merc After.....
Looks sweet...chopped ...channeled...powered by a 383 stroker chevy...turbo 350 tranny...still in primer...leather and tweed interior...you get the idea..
Next..And another "VIRTUAL KUSTOM"
51 Ford (Shoebox)
Before.....
Not a bad candidate!
After........
Slammed to the ground....18" wheels...powered by a 460 ford with a C4 tranny....9" rear...MustangII front suspension...billet steering column...kustom white face guages ala Cobra.....
And....Here's another..It's a 1955 Ford RanchWagon
Before......
And After
Powered by a Chevy 502 crate motor..Row thru the gears with a Muncie m22 "Rockcrusher" transmission...Airbags for "that just right" stance...The leather interior was replaced with tweed after passenger complaints of sliding around on the seats during hard cornering..hehe..
Weimer you figured out how to use this thing yet? I consider myself somewhat artistic and techniologically in tune but I opened this sucker lastnite and I turned into pluto, the stupid rover. I still think I can launch the space shuttle endever with this frikin thing...

Sorry HRK, tried to get that one to come up for you. A couple of hints though:
1. Don't put spaces in the file name. if you want a space use and underscore like this
grocery_getter
2. Make sure your images are saved as jpeg files. You have photoshop right? When you save there is a little thing in the box that says "format" just under "file name." Go into format and change them to jpeg, they are easier to work with that way.

hey kid, they were up, but I deleted them from my album so there was no reference. I will mail them back to you (now in a format that is supported by this board) and you can put them in your album. Then you can post them
for the people trying to get into photoshop, here's a few tips:
first off, layers are yout friends. I haven't done much with cars yet, but i used to take pix of people and I could show what you would look like with died hair and/or colored contacts, a tan, whatever.. same deal really...
it's been a while, but here goes. the exactl commands will be off a bit, but if you look in the menus enough you should find ones that are close.
what you want to do is use the magic wand to select the whole car body, then copy and paste it to a new layer (or something similar) then fill the outline with a color you like. mess around with the transparency of the layer until it looks right on the car.
that is a VERY basic paint job and can really only do basic work. results won't be nearly as good as viking is getting, but it's a strat. the rest comes with just fiddling with the settings and experimenting.
also, always save in the photoshop format and save again in jpg. that way you can go back and change just one layer instead of having to change he whole pic.
i don't have PS7 anymore but i may have to see if i can figure out this Corel Photo-paint we have opn this computer and see what i can throw together.. it isn't as good, but i think i can do something....
Alright I have a request that will be pretty easy for viking. A '77 Trans am with '98 camaro wheels (polished) prefferably, blue with red flames, why do you ask, because I ain't perfected my magic wand abilities yet let alone a flame job. That and I want to get bigger different rims and I found some '98 camaro wheels and not sure on how they might look.
Oooo, looked better than I thought it would, wasn't sure about those rims, but I am now. Thanks viking, I don't think I'm going to put a bird on it though, if I do it will be a majer custom bird. Havn't yet decided on the colors, but I was thinking blue with red flames, white red flames, gold with black flames or cucumber green with black flames, still not sure. Your imput would be apreciated if you like to toss it in. This is my effort to put the fun back into it for me, just a quick easy driver.
