Hey treekiller,
That's looking pretty good! I like that gunmetal color. I think that's a hard color to define exactly what it looks like. I guess Pewter is a good name for the color I like.

Can you shave the door handles, hinges, and hood?
Lookin sweet so far. It's a lot of fun seeing the car go through these changes!

Oh I just noticed the sides shaved on the copper bronze car. Nice! I can't even tell how you did that. And the wheels look great too!

can't shave the hood completely but, I can put another motor in it and take the side off, so you can see it.

Hey novaracer,
Take your pick from these high resolution pictures and go crazy!

Hey treekiller,
My wife sat down to use the computer and saw your last picture and loved it! She said wow, that looks like the paint job we were talking about! She didn't realize it was a virtual makeover job. After I looked at all the different pictures closely, I realized a couple things. First, the last pic with the pewter car with no hood is actually a '34 Dodge. Look close at the shape of the front fenders on that one and the one 2 posts before that where you said 'Is this gunmetal'. The Plymouth fenders swoop down behind the tire, and the Dodge is a straight slant to the running boards. Other than that they look identical I think.

Could you put the flame pattern from the copper bronze car onto the 'Is this gunmetal' car, and paint it the pewter color? I think that would be dead on for what I'm looking for!

I took a picture of my car and applied a pencil effect to it in Paint Shop Pro, which outlined the whole car, and then I printed it, filled in the lines with a pencil to make them darker, and scanned it back into my computer. I'll try to post that picture tonight. Not sure if it will be useful, but I thought it would be a good way to get a blank canvas to work from, maybe someone will find that technique useful.

Question like this ?

The pix you like,.... has bad contrast to begin with and the resolution isn't the greatest .
To get that polished sheen ( reflective brightness "whatever you want to call it ?") of the last gunmetal pix I posted , you'll have to find a different pix .
But this is all I can squeeze out of that one ....
The flames may be a bit narrow?
and I took the guy in the passenger seat out and the guy by the garage door. ..... Oh and you have the nemesis wheels.

"see what she thinks of this one "
