see thts a little overboard. I don't think I will ever see 7200 unless I'm doin some evil kennevil jumps with the gas pressed down in mid air. I just want a nice solid cam or another hyd flat tap tht gives a good power band. again the cam is rated 2 those rpms in a 350sbc the rpm drops some in a bigger displacement.

And for me thats not overboard thats where the fun is but yes for you 6500 with stock bottom end is probly over board the 421 small block building now I plan on 8000 rpms but nothing is stock in my engines but need know what gear whats compression ratio and what cam do you want solid or hydraulic and I would use roller but that gets little exspensive as you will need retro fit kit to make rollers work I myself really like solid rollers but for rpms you will turn you could use hydraulic roller depense on how much money you have to spend if not much you are prob limted to flat tappet hydraulic but with way oil is going in long run you save money not having add 10 dollar bottle of oil additive every oil change with flat tappet hydraulic cams
