Bell Housing on Ford Automatic Transmission

Does anyone know what the last year was that Ford used the Bell Housing that unbolted from the Automatic transmission? You can also respond to btullock@charter.net

Removable Ford automatic bellhousings were found on the C3, C4, and C5. The C3 is probably too weak for any hot rod uses. The C4 is a favorite of racers for it's durability and simplicity (it's light too). The C5 replaced the C4, but it is essentially the same tranny with a lock-up converter added. The C5 was last produced in 1986 (I think).
