belt

heres a stuiped question im putting on a new belt for the fan and power steering, cause it blew on me but heres the thing i got it on and now the fan doesnt work as well as the power steering. i only have it around two of the pullys i just want to make sure that it is on right or does it have to go around the balncer or the fly wheel what ever they call on the bottom of the engian

Yes....it should also go over the crank pulley. Was it not that way before the belt went bad?

What engine are we talking about?

around your crankshaft pully?

umm yeah i belive so

what kinda of car we talking about here?

it should go around the crank pully to the water pump pully(which your fan is connected to) and your power steering pully

is the belt tight?

is it a clutch fan?

does the car run hot?

is there any other belts going around the water pump pully? or does it just have a single groove in the pully where you can only put 1 belt?

i got it thank you for your reply but i dont know if it runs hot it is a ford 150 1978 the heat gauge isnt hooked up and i cant find where to hook it up i never did any wiring before that and the tac i wuld like to put in to but hav no idea where that gets hooked up to

thank you guys for anwering me back i figered it out after 4 tries i got the right belt every one was to thick thank you agian
