Hi Folks,

I'm in the process of building a hotrod out of a 39 Buick Special. I want to put a bench seat in the back and two bucket seats in the front. Can anyone provide any recommendations for for a rear bench seat that is between 46-48" wide? I've searched the salvage yards but really haven't found anything that I want to have reupholstered. At this point I would like to find an aftermarket "replacement seat" for something in that size.

I have a friend with a '39 Dodge 4 dr sedan, and he put the front and rear seats from an Acura in it. The rear seat really fit good width wise, and only needed a little fabricating around the edges to blend in with the rest of the car. Check out the foreign jobs, as a lot of them are going to be really close to what you need.

The rear seats from most newer cars, especially the smaller ones, are form fitted to sit right on the floor and do not have much support. You're going to need something like a middle seat from a mini van to adapt to the back of your car.
