Bench Test T.C.C SOL 700r4

can I bench test the overdrive solenoid with 12V how does it work i can blow threw it with no power to it.Also do i need to ground the SOL threw a pressure switch when in the trans just one more thing that may not work how about running pos and neg threw the plug in case i want the lock up for freeway controled by a toggle I now it has to be turned off when slowing down but first I need it to apply thanks Wayne

a switch will work. just stay on the ball. and i believe its a n/c solenoid... not sure though.

I believe the solenoid has a nylon check ball that might jam over time. If you have a question about it, I would go ahead and replace it.
