I have a bend pak lift. It is the full height, (12' 8"), 7500# version. We have had it for 12 years. I have never had a problem with the lift as far as the quality or it's capabilities. I haven't heard of anyone complain about the quality of a bend pak. We bought it because we felt it was more versatile for the type of work we do as it allows easy access to just about the whole car underside. The posts do get in the way of opening the doors if you are working on the inside and the outside at the same time. If I had to do it again I would get one of the ones with the angled posts. The only drawback to the 2 post is that doing anything requiring the suspension loaded such as exhaust work, pinion angle and ride height adjusting steering binding issues, etc, would be better done on a 4 post. I know that doesn't answer all of your questions, but I hope it helps. Mikey

We have 6 lifts in our shop. The newest is a Bend Pak. It is no where near the quality of the others. Its slow we have bent a couple cheaply made accessories that came with it. the ramp design sucks. I don't like it. But may be great for a home shop. Personally I wouldn't buy one .

For those with low ceilings where a full height lift won't fit, check out Kwiklift:

"Rotary".............. http://www.rotarylift.com/ I love this lift I work on every day for almost 5 yrs. Its a asymmetric lift, but I think they are the best lift for the money IMO. But for a home shop I would say Bend Pak would be fine. Look at my photo album you can see my nova sitting on the lift if your curious.

at the autoshop at my school, we have 6 lifts, there is an old Bend Pak, it is good, 2 post 9k max, doasn't have an automatic saftey disengage lever like the others, you have to pull the pins manually on each side. our new lifts are AAMCO 2 post Asymetricle, there real nice lifts, quick, the arm locks can get stuck tho, then it takes worming to get them released.
