There is a caveat to straightening an 'I' beam axle. An original Ford, and if it's a minor bend or twist, very little problem straightening - cold bending is the normal way to make caster and camber changes and even up through the early '80s on Ford pick up trucks . If it's an after market, care should be taken as many are cast rather then the original's forged with several to my knowledge failing though often via an unusual circumstance such as an off road excursion or accident
