bent Holley throttle shaft...

I have a 7508-1 2bbl Holley. It was rusted tight and the only way to remove and clean the blades was to take it apart.Well, what happened was that the shaft got bent.will any throttle shaft replace it, or do i have to buy a specific one for this carb?

Application specific. Order a new base plate and it should have the shaft and throttle blades in it. Copy all #'s off the carb before you go to the parts store or, take the carb body with you. Might try Napa first. The Chinese parts stores second.

That's a 2300 Holley. IIRC, the 2300 uses the same throttle bore center spacing as a squarebore Holley like a 4150.

So, you might try using the throttle shaft from THIS kit.

Obviously, another baseplate or shaft from a carb core off eBay would work.

So, you "MIGHT" try using the throttle shaft from THIS kit.

Obviously, another baseplate or shaft from a carb core "LIKE YOURS" off eBay would work.
I capitalized and added some key words to cobalt's post I quoted you need to re-read.
I hope he doesn't get mad at me.

I seriously doubt ANY shaft will work. This just covers way too much ground.

You would be well advised to do some research:

Does the 2300 carb share the same throttle bore centers as a shaft I might want to use- like the Holley 1850 in the kit I linked?
Are the shaft OD's similar?
Will the replacement shaft have the same (or usable) linkage hook up points?

I think the first two points are not going to be a problem, if attempting to use the kit shaft. The third may or may not be, depending on the exact app you have (and of the donor, if different from the kit shaft).

'Course not, it's all good.
